Planning for All of the “Nitty Gritty” Details
Part 3 of the Blog Series: SETTING UP FOR BACK-TO-SCHOOL SUCCESS
“Spectacular achievement is always preceded by unspectacular preparation.” ~ Robert H. Schuller
We have spent countless hours planning out every aspect of our classroom environment, but it has been worth every second of our time! Our school year always runs much smoother when we have taken the time to plan and think out every little detail of our physical classroom environment, room arrangement, storage, student seating, small group and large group areas, bulletin boards, too name just a few.
We know that setting up a classroom for the new school year whether it is a new classroom or one that you have been in for years can be exciting, overwhelming, and stressful. We hope that the Room Set-up Checklist FREEBIE (click HERE to download) we are sharing with you will help you think of all of those minute details, so that you can have a physical classroom environment that supports you and your students and alleviates some of the stress.
For a brand new classroom, the checklist provides you with all of the details to think about before you actually start arranging the furniture and unpacking those boxes. We have been in our classroom for several years; however, we use the checklist to go back and reflect on each aspect from the previous school year to see if the areas and systems are still working well or if we need to tweak them a little or completely change everything. With different students and curriculum needs or program changes, something always gets tweaked.
Our next blog post in our Blog Series: ROUTINES AND PROCEDURES is all about how to teach routines and procedures in an engaging way and includes a procedure checklist FREEBIE to make the process easier. Click HERE to read it.
Have a GREAT back-to-school season! If you have any questions or want to share some tips or pictures from your own room set up, please respond below or email us at [email protected].
