Welcome to our first blog post! We are so excited to embark on this new adventure! We are kindergarten and transitional kindergarten teachers from Northern California. We share a classroom, a love of teaching, and most of the time even the same brain! We are wives, moms, Sunday school teachers, and one of us is even a grandma. We love to stalk follow Pinterest, connect with other teachers/bloggers on Instagram, create items for our classroom, and all things kinder!
Our goal is to make learning a celebration every day in our kindergarten/TK classroom. A kinderbration can be a whole-day celebration such as 100’s Day, a dinosaur dig, etc. It can also be as simple as matching our students’ current interests to a skill they need to practice. For example, at the end of the year, most of our kiddos were playing t-ball and talked about it constantly. We had a few TK students that still needed practice with letter identification. We connected their love of baseball with their need to practice matching upper and lowercase letters and created baseball-themed ABC letter match cards. They are simple yet motivating and engaging. Our students LOVED them! Click on the link below to grab the black and white version as a freebie. We hope your kiddos love them as much as ours did!
We are new to this blogging and TPT world and are so excited to see where this journey will take us. We would LOVE for you to follow us as we share our love of teaching. We LOVE learning from other teachers, and we hope something we share will inspire other teachers like they have inspired us! The following quote posted by one of our favorite bloggers, Greg Smedley-Warren, seems to sum it all up.
“The most valuable resource that all teachers have is each other. Without collaboration our growth is limited to our own perspectives.” ~Robert John Meehan
